Before you hand over your money

Bring your passport and ask what identification the specific counter requires. Confirm that your currency and banknote denomination are accepted, and whether the quoted amount includes all fees. Count the won and keep your receipt before leaving.

Money Box’s FAQ describes cash-only exchange, a passport or ID scan at its machines, and different currency coverage for counters and machines. Check its official FAQ for your chosen service. Do not assume a debit or credit card can fund a cash-exchange transaction.

Compare the actual amount you receive

Ask: “If I exchange this amount, how many Korean won will I receive after all charges?” Compare quotes for the same currency, amount and transaction direction. A “no commission” sign does not by itself establish the best overall deal. Allow for your time and transport costs when comparing distant locations.

Use our listing as a route-planning aid. Exchange rates and branch cash availability must be checked with the operator; we do not collect quotes or process exchanges.

Arriving late at the airport?

Check your actual terminal and the counter’s current operating hours. A counter in a departure or restricted area may not be accessible from arrivals. Do not assume every airport counter operates overnight. Prepare a payment option for your onward journey before leaving the terminal.
